Angry and very unsatisfied customer.

A friend purchased a 67 GTO from Streetside in Tampa for over 60K that was advertised as flawless with minor to NO issues. "OMG".

Upon delivery of the car, we could not even drive it around the block.

Wheels rubbed on quarter panels; frontend was so slammed that the front wheels would not turn without rubbing. No brake lights, no parking brake cables connected, just hanging under car connected to nothing.

Once carpet was removed the "porch panel" that the manual shifter comes through was not even in the car leaving a gaping hole at least 8X8 inches. Whereas exhaust carbon monoxide as well as water and debris could and was entering the car. Ca was advertised to have coil overs what a joke they were from Ebay This place makes you sign a disclaimer prior to purchase saying that you won't do a negative review.

WTF!

wiring needed to be replaced. This place is a joke and very dishonest.

Do not believe them , make sure you inspect in person.

I purchased a 1982 chevy which looked to be in perfect condition, that should have been a red flag. Since I live in Texas and the vehicle was in Tennessee I didn't get to actually go look at it.

I did ask how the vehicle ran and was informed by the salesman it ran strong down the road. Well I can only say that was a straight up impossibility . When it finally arrived I was busy and pointed to where he should drop it off at. I finally got a chance to look at it and the delivery driver was in a hurry and I understand since I was busy as he unloaded it.

I went to start it after he left and it made a god awful grinding noise and after checking to make sure it even had oil in it tried again . That's when I realised that it had issues. Turns out major ones, starter was not matching flexplate so it was grinding when you start, after it started I had to used both hands to turn the steering wheel because the power steering gear box or pump was bad. turned out probably both the frame where the gearbox is mounted has been welded so not sure how I can get that fixed.

barley moves due to transmission not shifting properly. That's when I realised I was taken to the cleaners what a *** way to run a business. I cant even get it legal to drive in the state of Texas without some major repairs , and when I told Streetside Classic they should have been honest no reply, when I left a message on there site finally the manager said he didn't see that it was a problem .

The bank is pissed because I am refusing to pay for a vehicle that I can not drive. It would be different if the one getting me the loan hadn't said she has been working with Cody for a long time and he was an honest guy.

Someone gave us a negative review. Well I found nothing wrong with these people any different and buying a used car from any used car company their vehicles are on consignment and not theirs and its up to the buyer to get an independent inspector and review the vehicle if you dont do it correctly, you should not complain after the fact these people provide the best information they can,and try to sell the vehicle

We are sorry you are still unsettled after two years and after you agreed to compensation for the vehicle and the potential unforeseen issues. We are unsure why the animosity is present since you agreed to and were accepting of the mutual terms.

There was never any malicious attempt to defraud or purposely hurt anyone.

We do our best to be very clear about the vehicles we sell and always encourage third-party inspectors because they may reveal items we may not know. We wish you the best.

unsettled? I have been making payments for 2 years for a vehicle I cannot drive. I wasn't given an option I was forced to accept the 800 bucks and keep in mind that was because it wouldn't even roll the brakes were froze up, don't you remember the streetside placard you absently left under the seat DANGER DO NOT DRIVE NO BRAKES. See I didn't expect you to be professional or take responsibility I just use every single platform I can to inform everyone to beware I have a complete list of customers and I send them info regularly.

If I can prevent you from making one single sale I will do everything in my power to do so.

I'm simply saving the buyer from dealing with thieves and lairs. Pathetic!

Streetsideclassics strived to scam me out of my money. I explained to the salesman this was my retirement present and I had one chance to get it right and I needed something turn key and ready for the road.

It must pass WV inspection. He out and out LIED to me and sold me junk. So now i make payments/insurance and taxes on a truck that is unsafe to this day to drive it won't pass inspection. I can't sell it because it's not worth 1/2 what they charged me!.

And they knew this going in. There was a streetsideclassics sign under the seat that said : DANGER DO NOT DRIVE NO BRAKES! Strretside robbed me of my retirement and every single month is like being ripped off again and again. I would have purchased anything they had , he didn't have to lie to me.

I don't have buyer remorse in the sense I didn't like it I have remorse for trust Streetside classic.

I post banners of how I was screwed at car shows and have even taken the truck to a couple shows to show everyone how bad I was screwed over. I post it everywhere and do everything in my power to prevent anyone from going to Streetsideclassics.

What you did was horrible very intentional and by design. I've had no choice but to deal with it alone, I purchased the vehicle from the N/C store from Matthew Lamb 5/13/2022 1970 Ford F100 , Called Michael Catignani he sent me an 800 dollar refund and acted like I was the problem!

he was 20,000 short and refused to take the vehicle back. I was smart enough to keep all the advertisements and postings and that is what I use when showing it to others.. You sold me a Truck advertising it was a well maintained truck ready to drive and enjoy knowing full and well it wasn't even road worthy and still isn't.

I actually haul to car shows on a trailer with STREETSIDECLASSIC all over it I can't get any enjoyment and can't get out from under it. You screwed a retired VETERAN and now I will be saddled with the cost for the rest of my life making monthly payments on a lie.

Complaint

Original review Nov 25, 2023

I recently purchased a 1967 Oldsmobile from the Nashville Streetside Classics dealership.

When the car was delivered to me it did not have brakes. After the car was unloaded, i drove it up my driveway.

When i stepped on the brakes, the pedal went to the floor. I managed to stop just short of going thru the back of my garage. When i looked under the car, there was a big puddle of brake fluid trailing my car and on my garage floor.

Here's my question: How could this happen? In your video you show the car being driven.

I also had a 3rd party inspection done on the car. He reported that the brakes were working. When i decide to have this fixed, it will need to be towed to the service center.

Why is it you sell a car with no brakes?? This is not a way to keep clientele.

I don't expect the car to be perfect, but i except for 30 thousand dollars it will at least be drivable. The car is in storage now for Winter, so I won't be having it fixed until Spring.

I show cars at many show around Northeast Ohio. Right now your company will not be getting favorable responses, when I am asked where I purchased the car from.

Regards.

How was the car delivered without the brakes working? I can't imagine how they they loaded the car onto a trailer unless they pulled it up onto a flatbed with a winch.

The delivery driver would have said something.

Perhaps the car was damaged during or after delivery. Did you follow up with the dealer or the 3rd party inspection service?

Guest

I purchased a 1970 F100 it had no brakes no steering starter was falling off, fly wheel was stripped they dropped it off and I had to have it towed the last 3 miles home. I have never been able to drive it!

I haul it on a trailer to car shows to advertise Streetsideclassics scam. They're PIRATES with no scruples.

First of all dead battery, all the lights dont work on the car, The exhaust was leaking from three different areas, missing parts and pieces that they dont show you in a video. I like the car but disappointing with what they dont show in the video or tell you.

If you buy a car from them make sure you go there in person to see it and test everything because they hide a lot with their videos. Dont trust them if you just see the car through video and have it shipped.

Car wasn't the quality it was made out to be

I bought a 1970 Chevelle SS 396 just one I owned when I was 20. I wish I had had a qualified mechanic to go with me to inspect the car before I bought it.

It had some minor problems which I was informed about and wasn't a show stopper for me. Some time after I got it home I bought a few upgrade parts such as a new intake and carburetor which really improved the performance. As we were finishing up, friend is also an expert mechanic was just looking over the rest of the car and while underneath noticed some suspicious looking parts. The car had its share of rust but someone had filled a bunch of the rust holes in the frame with foam and then painted over them to try to hide what had been done.

So my mechanic dug out all of the foam to be able to see the extent of the damage. He was concerned about the steering because the support for the steering box was one of the places with a lot of rust and he was concerned that this mechanism could break loose causing loss of control.

So we carried to a custom car restoration shop that repaired the frame damage which cost me around $7,000. I'm not trying to so all of their inventory is faulty in this way but just make sure you have someone that knows what to look for.

Same thing happened with an El Camino I just bought. We could tell the car would have some issues but my son wanted a car to work in.

The total price was $14,000 but, honestly, the car in its current state is probably worth $500.

We found the dip stick wasn’t actually tied and not connected to motor, the Freon leaked into the engine and other items that were glued rather than screwed. Buyer beware.

Terrible. Ive had four separate major problems and several minor ones

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

I flew to phoenix to purchase a beautiful car and it exceeded my expectations. Before I got in the driver seat. I wasn't able to test drive it so I had the seller do so. everything seemed great. I wasn't able to drive because I was told it had a reverse manual valve body tranny (the automatic has to be shifted). the sales lady said it did because she didn't know what it was! anyway we took a short cruise up and down the alley and it rode and ran well. so I bought it. Upon "expedited delivery" ($700 extra paid for 1-2 day delivery). When the car came 4 days later instead of what I was told would be 1-2 days, I paid $700 extra dollars on top of the $400 for absolutely nothing! The car. first impression, the brakes were spongy, it didn't have a reverse manual valve body transmission as I was told so I was trying to shift. I called and pam the sales lady and she said it had an automatic-no idea what I was talking about with shifting an automatic car... but she said yes when I asked. I let it go at that point but the number of other issues put me over the top.

First, brakes. master cylinder on 4 disc wildwood system shot. Motor, I was told it was a 383 motor stroked to a 408 but it turned out to be an older cheaper 360 Mopar A motor stroked to a 408. The headlights, pointed all over the place and the adjustment screws were rusted and shot. The driver door only opened from the inside. The window crank took a body builder to turn. The new carpeting was cheaply and stupidly cut and stapled to wood interior inserts...-on a $40,000 car... The alternator was shot and wouldn't charge the battery which was also no good! So new battery $130, Alternator and labor $700, brakes estimated cost $800 (they're being worked on now, door and window repair $400, reverse manual trans body $300/ installation est. $800-$1000, shipping $700, not to mention the 383 motor I was lied to about. 360 block cost compared to a 383 block? A lot of money

time for me to do all this and miss work? THOUSANDS

do the math for a turn key car... low estimate? $3730 in parts and labor to have a drivable car

Without my wasted time

Just seems like it would be a benefit to them to try and get repeat customers or word of mouth, instead of just jury rigging to sell quickly. What a shame - No pride of craftsmanship there. WAS interested in a car there, BUT thank goodness, I checked for reviews and complaints BEFORE I contacted them !!

Guest

Did you have a pre-purchase inspection done by an expert in that model of car? If not, you only have yourself to blame. These people are not car experts; they are salespersons.

StreetsideClassics

Our detailed description of this vehicle on our website did not state that it had electronic fuel injection, a manual valve body, or power brakes. Our website also clearly advertises this car with a 360 CI engine that was stroked to 408CI, so it was correct & accurate.

Even so, we took responsibility for a potential verbal misunderstanding on the manual valve body between the sales associate and customer, and offered to purchase the valve body for the customer. To date, the customer has declined. Our sales associate denies ever claiming the car had EFI, and we never advertised it, same for the power brakes and the 360/383 misunderstanding. But again, in writing none of those of things were advertised, and at some point we have to go off what was actually advertised on our website.

It is true the customer was not able to test drive this vehicle due to his disability, but our sales associate did not experience any difficulties with the brakes when the customer was in the vehicle with her. Since purchasing, the customer claims he’s had 2 accidents and took it to a shop for repairs. We have requested this invoice for us to review on multiple occasions, but the customer has still not sent it. Therefore, we cannot be sure of such claims, without proof.

Even so, if the incidents occurred after the sale and on-site inspection, so they are technically not our responsibility and would likely fall on the customer, pending our review of the circumstances. We do not schedule transportation until full funds are received and the sale is finalized during our normal business hours. If funds are received when the showroom is closed, the sale is not considered finalized until the next business day. For this customer, funds were received on a Monday, so the sale was not considered finalized until we reopened Tuesday. Transportation was immediately scheduled on that Tuesday for an expedited service, and vehicle was picked up the next day (Wednesday) and delivered to the customer that Thursday, making it a 2-day expedited transport.

Therefore, JNJ fulfilled the agreement as requested.Streetside Classics has made attempts to accommodate this customer, however the customer has declined our offers, changed his requests and added to the story multiple times without providing any real proof. Communication, quality customer service and transparency are of the utmost importance to us.

We make sure our descriptions are detailed, accurate, and we educate customers as much as possible before accepting a consignment or finalizing a sale. This customer inspected this vehicle in person, and then agreed to accept it “AS/IS” and without warranty.

Yeah paperwork. We get it.

A hand shake and your word are nothing. We understand that too. You and your staff lied to me many times, even contradicting the “vehicle description”! I was told many times my several people it had a stroked 383 motor.

I was also told thatThe transmission was built by the engine builder Dennis Maurer. The tranny is bone stack beside the shifter and pretty well worn. I kept fetttibgvtild it had POSI. It does but on a tiny 7 1/4” rear end built for 180 horse power.

And I would guarantee it’s the same rear end, untouched besides the Posii, that was in the car in 67. It’s a grenade. I guess I assumed a hot rod builder would put a strong rear end in a vehicle with higher than normal horsepower. Sales person kept saying POSIthis and POSI that.

I remember asking if it was a 8.75 rear end and she thought about it and said yeah I think so but she wasn’t sure. But it has POSI. Now you know what I have? A hand full of a exploded 60 year old 7 1/4” gearing and a really nice looking rear end plate.

I bet the clock is ticking on the tranny.

Alternator already went out by that was new and the actual manufacturer-an honest man who takes pride in his work- said send it back to me andI’ll fix it for you. Just pay the shipping at least there are some honest business men

DO NOT PURCHASE THROUGH STREETSIDE CLASSICS...PERIOD!

They try to get you into a vehicle that is often misrepresented. My vehicle had 'full documentation' and was represented as a having a rebuilt motor. Rebuild was found to be half done. Replaced all fluids day after purchase and found so much Stop Leak that there was no way to operate car as it was all gunked up. This was simply done to sell a car to the next sucker. Unfortunately, that was me! $7K in repairs needed.

I don't have the knowledge of classic cars I would like so I used the recommended inspector to inspect the vehicle. I get that it's an 'As Is' purchase, but you should be able to trust the guidance from Streeside.

Seems like they bought a used car, had it inspected, and decided to buy it. There are no warranties when buying old cars, and they are classics, so they are 40, 50, 60+ years old.

Things go bad. How long is an As Is, No Warranty, warranty good for?

Beware Snakes wearing cheap suits

Maybe that’s what I should do. Maybe some of the builders that put this car together, or the pieces that were assembled anyway, are honest businessmen and will back up their product because it has their name on it and they take pride in that: not a snakes worried about nothing but the bottom line.

What’s this world coming to? I’ve ordered smaller parts on eBay for my new 67 dart I bought from STREETSIDE classic cars and if it didn’t fit or three was a problem, most of hem accepted return. Actually all of them unless shipping was 1/2 the cost of the product.

Unfair Taxation

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

A friend drove 3 hrs. to the Phoenix dealership to buy a car . All went well with the deal until, he was told that he would have to pay sales tax on the transaction. He is a resident of Arizona and in that state if you buy a car from a private individual you are not required to pay any sales tax. You only have to pay tax if you buy from a dealer and that was why he sought out a consignment dealership knowing that they do not own the vehicles and are only representing the seller on a commission basis.

When he explained that he objected to being charged the taxes both the salesman and the manager said that there was no option you pay the tax or you don't buy the car.

I don't understand this practice unless they are pocketing the extra dollars . It makes no sense to me for them to be doing this when it drives up the cost to the buyer by thousands of dollars and makes the car that much less salable for the seller.

If you live in Arizona DO NOT BUY OR CONSIGN with a dealer who does this. You are being taken.

I am the Executive Director of the Arizona Independent Automobile Dealers Association and teach state and federal compliance to the dealers of the State of Arizona. All Arizona Dealers are required to comply with all state laws for all vehicle sales unless there is a stipulated exemption codified in state statutes. There are no exemptions for consigned vehicles.Arizona laws exist so that the sale of the vehicle ensures consumers are afforded protections, even for consigned vehicles.

State statutes consider consigned vehicles the same as a vehicle owned by the dealer. In this case, the dealer is required to report the sale as income to the Arizona Department of Revenue and remit the sales tax owed on that retail income.

They cannot "pocket" the money.Every dealer in Arizona has the responsibility to collect sales tax for consigned vehicles. If they have not, when they are audited by the Arizona Department of Revenue, they will then be forced to remit the sales tax, plus interest, plus penalties.Feel free to reach out if you want further clarification. Streetside Classics - 1973 Ford Mustang Car Review

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

I purchased a 1973 Mustang convertible and stupidly I believed the marketing hype that streetside classics in Fort Worth put together. The car has so many I will call them safety issues, That I barely got home.

The company markets cars on consignment but apparently they never check out how badly there put together my car stalls on idol the gas gauge does not work there as a passenger window that will not seal and that's just a few of the issues. I would never ever recommend a customer to buy a car from this company .

And this company is apparently not willing to help. I'm having extremely difficult time finding anyone willing to help me work on this car

You guy's who go buy antique or classic car's

And no nothing about them or how to work on them, should stay away.

Anytime you buy these old cars it's " as is" and they are always breaking down, or needing one thing or another, that is just how it is there is NO warranty, and they need constant attention. So if you're new to the old car game PLEASE do your homework, or pay someone to inspect the car, but that is still no guarantees They are OLD CAR'S these places like Gateway or Streetside just

Consigne the cars and that's it, it's your job to inspect and do you're homework....

I am sorry about your situation. I have only driven the car maybe 30 miles sine getting it home from Dallas.

Streetside never responded. I am out more than 4000.

In additional repairs and attempting to sell it at a 12000 loss from what I have in it. So far no takers so the loss is likely to increase.

Guest

I know how you are feeling. I recently bought a 1996 Ford Bronco from their Nashville location.

Long story short, they described a truck that had recently undergone an engine rebuild. I bought the truck, drove it about 2500 miles over the course of 4 months only to have a knock sound coming from my valve cover...turns out whoever rebuilt the engine used the wrong push-rods causing my rocker arms to dislodge.

I am now $3,000 in the hole because they hyped this thing up and never verified any work done. BUYERS BEWARE!
